Close is Better
OK, the world may be going to Cleveland in a handbasket but what if I focus in a little closer?

I spent the day alone at the office analyzing a system, designing an interface to it, and beginning it's implementation. It did wonders for my self-worth.

Then at home the family and I had a lovely chinese dinner and we sat on the deck and watched the sun go down. It was clear and cool out, very pleasant.

Now to get in to some serious coding on my aforementioned implementation so I can suprise and hopefully delight the ladies in accounting on Monday morning. Dare to dream!

Much better perspective. It's really an answer to your earlier question.

Well there wasn't any question and I don't think of this perspective as better, it's just narrower. It definitely provides a happier experience in the momemt though.

Thanks for giving me thought food!

I guess when I think of your last post, I think "Why did I have children given this world situation we are in?" but the answer is the moment of sitting on the deck watching the sunset with a family. And a ton of other moments in between. And the fact that your children will have these moments as well. The next question I have is whether enough of these beautiful moments can change the broader experience.
